Anyone have any laying around? I would like to have a set to possibly use on my new 45. No rush.

thanks

why not order them from toyota?

Not sure I will end up using them, really just hoping someone has some sitting in the garage they don't want. If I knew for sure I was going to be able to use them, I wouldn't object to buying them new.

Just for clarification it's the 17" fj cruiser steel wheels, not expecting someone would be looking to get rid of OEM fj40 wheels. Added the 17" to the titles for clarification.

Usually the 16" Tundra/Tacoma (16 hole steel wheels) are probably easier to obtain than the 17" FJ Cruiser Steelies.. (BTW, no affiliation with this listing below)

5 FJ steelies w/BFG KO2 KO tires

Pretty sure you will need spacers for those fjc wheels to fit.
There's a guy in Tucson selling original style steelies for $45 a piece with is not bad. Says he has some welded and some riveted wheels.

I already have some spacers, so not an issue. What I want to do is try to mock up some clips and weld them on to retain the fj40 hubcaps. Not sure that will work. If not I would probably try the same thing on my 16" split rims or some 16" 4runner spare steel wheels.

I talked to that seller. He wants minimum of $400. For that sum I would have to place some value on his almost useless tires. These steel wheels are usually $25-$40 at the typical used tire places. If he was asking $100-$150 I would buy them just to see if I could FAB up what is in my head. $400 is too much for what I am looking at.

Yea, that's just too much. I picked up my steelies from a custom wheel and tire shop back in SoCal for $20 each. But mine are 16" x 7" off of a Tundra/Tacoma. My brother has 17" FJ steelies on his 4Runner. I think he paid like $250. Not as common as the 16s

It can be done. ClemsonCruiser did it. Here's some of his info:

Here you go, acorn hub caps on 2001 16" tundra rims running 1.5" spacers. I removed the hubcap clips from an old rusty pair of factory 40 rims.

@Funner did you see these?

FJ40 Wheels

Thank you, Steve. I think if I end up going with 15" wheels, which I very well may, I will just buy some new ones. My understanding with these earlier riveted 15" wheels is that they won't clear disk brakes. God knows if I will ever do a disk conversion on either axle, but I should probably leave that option open in case I decide to do so.

Interesting how times change, remember when riveted wheel held very little value.

Check with CBT but think new are little over twice as much. Check labor to change and balance tires isn't cheap.

@JackA has offered to help relocate early Stout spring perches on to a early FJ40 rear axle so will have matching lug pattern with most my tow vehicles. Those plan running early drum wheels and hub caps since already have both. Did find it interesting the rear drum wheels to do not bolt up to the pre 8/80 rear full floater with heavy brake drums. Thought about using one of these for the trailer axle and locating the perches so the back of the axle is towards the bottom for better ground clearance but want the option of running early drum wheels.
