If you're having Proffits they'll source the parts for you, I imagine they prefer to anyway - you know most places don't like customers to bring their own parts if they're going to warranty it.

If you're going to this expense it's foolish to go used.

sweet deal

Today, I found the (NEW) Toyota 5 speed (H55F) thru Proffits for $2250, also MAN A FRE has them on sale right now for $1995 plus freight! I am gonna go with Proffits it also has a new warranty from Toyota for at least 12 months. This is for a new unit from Toyota.

I was also going with Old Man Emu Heavy verses a "spring over" due to my overland traveling nature, and load carrying potential. However, until it's done; I love the look of sprung over wagons, and meaty tires, so we'll see. I need to still be sold(educated) on the notion that I can travel with heavy loads and still go spring over versus OME? Thanks for the help, sorry if I stole the thread.

ANY totoyta dealer can get the h55f transmission and required parts to complete the swap. and i mean ANy dealer. they can look it up on the computer if you just know where to look.
you'll need the transmissions, shifter, shifter knob and the 5th gear oil funnel. if you plan on running the mechanical t-case shifter setup, then you'll need to order one of the linkage pieces as well since they're different than the 4spd counterpart.

i'd get the trans from proffits if they're going to be the ones to install it. that way there won't be any warranty issues ( not like there should be any in the first place ).

you can put quite a bit of weight in a 60/62 with the soa setup but i'd highly recommend going with the longer chevy springs. you can run the one-ton rears if you're always going to be travelling heavy. otherwise, run the 1/2 or 3/4 ton springs and a set of air bags to level out the ride when you're toating a bunch of stuff around.
we have a customer with that setup and he loves it. he used to have a 2F h55f setup in the rig but we just converted that to a vortec Nv4500 combo.........

as far as the lift is concerned, figure out what you want to do with the vehicle and how much lift/tire size you really need. then build accordingly.......

hth!
