Hey all im new to the forum and I am just about to start on a spring over conversion. I have a 87 FJ-60) thats ive had for about a year now and I absolutly love it except for the fact that it has zero ground clearance and small tires. I have never done a SOA before but ive pulled the axels off of my dads Landcruiser fj-45 with him and done lots of other big jobs with toyotas. I was just looking for some information on SOA's and this looks like the place to find it.
My main questions are:
-Ive heard alot of good things about people doing Soas on 60 series landcruisers like better ride and handleing and I was wondering what some of the other downsides and plus sides are.
- Should I also get my leafs rearched well i am doing this?they are preety flat.
-Is there any other non-super-expensive upgrades that I should do well I am doing this?
- Should I use the mounts that are already on top of the axels or make new ones? I have access to a welder but I would rather use the old mounts unless theres something wrong with that.
- Will i need to lengthen my driveshafts or do anything else with them?

Basically any info that you guys have would be really appreciated. I plan to put 33's on ti after the lift is done. IF anyone knows any websites or other related info that would be great to. Cheers

heres what i did

no cut and turn, used a rear toy p/u d-shaft for the front, as per jess at high angle. modified front shock mounts. ford uppers, modified lowers[pics of lowers] all pro high steer. a must [best mod]. modified lower rear shock mounts.wasnt realy that hard, just time......good luck :D
