Hi Everyone,

I've got an 83' FJ 60 that has zero power. Turn the ignition and nothing, not even lights. I've replaced the battery and the ignition switch. I checked the fusible link and all the fuses. I was able to get lights on momentarily by removing the fusible link and directly connecting the plugs, but when I went to crank the engine everything went dead again.

Grateful for any ideas or suggestions.

Cheers.

How bout your grounds dude?
did this to me too, the first 2 days it started flawlessly. mine was diesel and needed to glow the plugs to start until 1 day it glowed but wont crank. eventually i played around with the ground wire on the battery post and realised that was the critter. (switched on) my dome light and wiggling the ground at certain angles show there is current and not. fixed the ground wire and battery head (had it cleaned with brake cleaner) connected and a bit of grease to put the oxides away.

Fixed. It was the ground at the negative battery post terminal. It was literally six inches from my face the entire time I was staring at the engine compartment trying to figure this mess out. Feel like a bit of an idiot, but par for the course. Thank you to all who responded!

Cheers.
