I've decided to fix my LX. I have been looking on the IH8MUD classifieds, ebay, Cruiser parts and extensive web searches for front end replacement parts. If anyone has knowledge of a salvaged LX/LC or knows of where I can look, shoot me a line. Cruiser parts page says they have all the necessary parts, but I've read some threads saying they have taken a long time to deliver and they're expensive. Here are the parts needed:

BUMPER
FENDER
FENDER FLARE
RADIATOR SUPPORT
INNER WHEEL WELL
LEFT HEADLIGHT
LEFT TURN SIGNAL
GRILL AND SHELL
SIDE MARKER
VALANCE
HEADLIGHT TRIM COVER

thanks for the help.

besides the headlight they all should be the same as a lc

If I had the cashto drop on a new ARB bumper, you could have my old one...

I have ordered a couple of small parts from cruiserparts.net and had good luck with them.

I would recommend scouring the parting out thread in the classifieds and buy the parts there. You can double check the price of parts with car-part.com.

FYI, there is also a '96 80 series at Wagners in Durham. Their customer service isn't top notch, but you might be able to find a couple of parts there.

Finally, I have to kindly disagree with Al's cross-reference. The fender flare is definitely different than an LC, but I'm not sure about the fender (flare mounting points?). The grill is different and I believe the side marker (LC is yellow, LX is clear). The other parts should be the same as a LC, but it would make your life easier if you could find a used part in the correct LX color so you don't have to worry about painting it.

Always pointing out my flaws Clint, I just don't think we can be friends any more :flipoff2:

Couldn't find the listing. Looked in Parts and Autos

Are you making an offer?

Depends on how long you want to wait on it. I'm not sure when I'm going to replace it, but it does have some scrapes and a good pressure cut into it...

So you won't pull me out of any mud holes? Sorry, I should be nicer to the bigger rigs...

No but I will always cheer you on as you drive in them :grinpimp:

Found at Salvage Yard

Drove up to Winston Salem yesterday and found the same year and color as mine. We had to disassemble everything to get the parts off, but here's what we picked up:

-radiator core support
-fender w/flare
-inner wheel well
-fender filler
-battery box
-headlight
-corner lense
-blinker
-a/c evac dryer tubing

To my surprise I walked out of there only paying $330 plus tax. What a deal-felt like christrmas. I will start putting the parts back on next week-I'll keep you guys updated.

Looks like you will have this thing back together in no time. Good score, always helps when they're the same color too
Took a huge burden off my back getting these parts. I had priced everything on cruiser parts and it was going to cost me $2000 for just parts. Having scored the same color too was another bonus. I can also put the parts on and drive with out having to worry about getting it painted right away. Can't wait!!

Good to be back

Finished putting her back together yesterday . I am having a custom front and rear bumper made for the truck. The color is a little off but it's great to be back again. I can't express how good it is to have her running again. Essentially it was all plug and play. just had to add AT fluid. I am still looking for the a/c tubing that goes from the dryer to the cooler assembly-if anyone has one (i'll check at the local dealership tomorrow).

If anyone is planning a front axle rebuild soon I would be interested in helping out. I need to do mine and would like the knowledge. Still learning....

Thanks for all the help!

Ya just missed a big one, but I think that brian (garnerfj40) and Logan (young and dumb) are planning on doing theirs in september before the Uwharrie ride.
