This is obscure! 2004 GX470 driver's visor would blow dome fuse and take out all interior lights when flipped down, Major surgery and the patient made a full recovery. I made the incision down the entire top of visor where it already had the seam. Then I pried it open. Pry open along the seam that would be closer to the back of the truck when in the up position. I pried the side by the windshield, which is actually a hinge. Oops. I was able to melt it back together,The cap at the end of the slide rod had broken off. The cap hold the contacts in place, These are the contacts that only allow the light to be on when the visor is in the down position and not slid down the rod. I put the contacts back in, reinstalled the cap, melted plastic to fix it in place. Then I discovered and fixed a broken wire.

How did this break? My theory is the broken wire went first. That it simply failed. Then the frustrated Lexus owner :bang: slammed the visor a bunch of times, and sometimes the broken wire would make contact and work, but they slammed it enough to pop out the cap.
