FIXED 2013 LX570 Tilt Steering for $53 (+tax/Shipping) --- using LS460 (2007-2009) part found on eBay.

eBay Part was an exact replacement! Same Connector, mounting points & hardware, etc.

1 unit, "Last One", still available on eBay at time of this posting.
(also note, for about a $100+, other sellers had LS460 steering column for sale, pictures looked to have the tilt and telescopic assembly's on them)

eBay Description = "Lexus LS460 Steering Column Tilt Motor w/Mechanism 2007-2009 OEM"
See Link below, and attached Picture of the eBay page.

( Disclaimer -- First, I bought from this seller, but really have no idea if part seller misidentified the part, or if it is really from an LS460. Second, ad says LS460, not LX460 which I initially thought )

=== Tilt Steering Issue ===
2013 LX570 Tilt-Steering stopped working, motor could be heard running but not tilting up/down.
After removal, issue was that "worm gear" had cut through 3-4 teeth of the "work wheel" so gears would not engage anymore when it hit that position.

=== Fix Path ===
Could not find LX570 Tilt Assembly parts sold by Lexus/Toyota, or on internet.
Entire Steering Column for over $2400 would fix, but No Thanks on that.
No Salvage/Junk yards nearby had any LC/LX 200's.

As a challenge had my High School son make a replacement "worm wheel" on his 3D printer. Just a learning challenge for him, his 3D printed worm wheel lasted 3 weeks under intense usage. Not bad, but never going to work long term, there is pretty intense load/torque on the OEM worm wheel (OEM is steel/nylon).

Meanwhile... Kept Looking for options.

On eBay, found $53 "LS460 tilt assembly" that looked exactly the same, so I took a chance.
After part arrived, it was an exact copy of my original OEM 2013 LX570 part as far as I could tell.
When installed... it was an exact fit and replacement. Same Connector, mounting points & hardware, etc.
It has been working for 3+ months, no problems.

I'm satisfy the Tilt-Steering is fixed.

To get many years of longevity, hopefully, I turned off "ALL" automated Tilt-Steering functions.
Some settings can be changed on Infotainment "Setting" menu. But found it did not turn everything off, especially if "Easy Exit" feature was turned on.
I used Tech Stream to ultimately turn-off all the automated functions.
Tilt only operates now if...
1) I use the manual Tilt button on Steering column.
2) I press any of the presets for driver settings using the Lexus Memory System

Thank you for posting this!

No problems yet with my '14 but valuable knowledge.

Hey there, do you have any videos or photos on how to open the steering column to access these motors and what kind of tools would I require?
I got the motors but no shop is willing to swap them, they keep on saying that you cannot remove the motors from the column and the column has to be replaced entirely which I know is not true as you have replaced it yourself.

Could you please be so kind to guide me a little bit on how to access these motors and what tools do I need?
