I always use Aeroquip hose instead of Parker for just that reason. Aero hose is plenty strong enough to take the pressure.

That fitting is for -6 AN braided fuel hose. It won’t work with the Parker Hydraulic hose.

The black hose is -6 AN fuel hose. Blue is the Parker hydraulic hose. Big O.D. size difference.

Hose I.D. will be the same. Black is a -6 AN fuel fitting like the one @carreta posted. Silver is Hydraulic. No way the hydraulic hose will stuff inside the compression nut.View attachment 1612025

Will this work on the low pressure?

Yes it will work with hydraulics. If you mean the black hose fitting you need an Aeroquip type fitting ( fits over hose like the other one)

Will this 90 degree coupler 6AN female 6AN male will work? in order to be able to clear the bib and connect a straight hose fitting ?

Thanks

Looks like it might hook up. I would think you’d have no problem on the low pressure side. If using an 11/16 version of that aluminum Earl’s carb fitting on the high pressure side, you might be wise to call Summit and ask for a pressure rating. Guessing the weak point would be the thin alluminium lip formed to make it a swivel fitting.

If you know your hose lengths. I’d think a hose with fittings actually designed for spikes in hydraulic pressure would be better. Parker’s website has a “hose doctor” locator. Downey has probably done hundreds of Saginaw conversions. You could probably PM Downey your phone number and he’d help you. Could also call Georg at Valley Hybrids:beer:

Ok. Will call summit regarding if it'll hold such pressure.

Do you remember the part numbers on the Fragile, Earls on the parkers hose for low and high ?

I don't know if I sent the link of the 6AN female and male 90 degree

  • Here is another solution to the hose issue- I used a pressure hose for a J**p CJ7. I don't remember off hand if it was for the V8 or straight 6 motor. I just looked at the pictures on the computer at O'Reilly's and picked the one that looked like it would work with my V8 motor. Bolted right in and fit below the bib with a minor bend to the hard line. I also changed the fitting on the pump (from a 84 chevy truck) from the o-ring type to the flare type to work with my early steering box.
