We're visiting family in AK. Last night was salmon fillets with lemon pepper and onion on the grill, deep fried halibut chunks for the kids, and 2.5 lbs of king crab legs, with fried spuds and Caesar salad for sides. Holy s***, that was an amazing meal!

C, that sounds excellent. On looking at ordering in fresh oysters from Homer and deep frying some of those..

Why go all the way to Homer for oysters? Try some from Hamma Hamma on Hoods Canal (http://hamahamaoysters.com/) or some from Willapa Bay (
http://willapa-oysters.com/) In Washington State. Both of these places are within an hour of my place and if I'm in the area I need to pick some up. And I always have an oyster knife in my glove box if the tide is out....
But I'll wager those ones from Homer are also good.

We ordered in the Kumomoto for W.B already, wanting to taste a different variety is all. The Kumomoto is one of the best tasting oysters IMO.

One of the guys here at the mill lives in Raymond so I had him bring me 10 dozen extra smalls for a family reunion we had back in June.

Nice delicate sweet oyster, low brine. I like a good blue point as well. But, prefer Kumos any day of the week.. Kusshi is a close second, good B.C. variety.
