First Welds

Had a friend come by earlier today who is pro welder. I got a free welding for beginners class .

Burned my first welds on some transfer case mounts...not that bad. Still got a LOT to learn.

What you guys think?

That is a very nice weld. You must have been using gas. I've been using that flux core for quite awhile and great in windy conditions but really sucks for clean welds.

Looks good Jon. They look a little on the cold side. You should see color distortion along the weld. It stands out well in the center triangles in the photo below. Try turning up the voltage and wire feed speed a bit.

off to a good start. crank it up a little more so it will go a little deeper into the metal.

grind/clean your base metal before you weld even new non rusted metal, it helps. If thats your first time
