I think we'll take the night off from working DIRECTLY on MeJane..I want to spend some time in the FAQs.
I found the 33x9.5x15 tires pics over there - so I believe its what I want to downsize to from my 33x12x15's. It seems to be a worthy downgrade.

I will be needing sparkplugs pretty soon and I believe the info is over there too..(carb is running a bit rich)

Imagine that! Someone that enjoys FAQ reading, instead of frequently asking questions!!

I forgot to mention - the oil pressure gauge is working after all..maybe a little 40 fairy came by...perhaps the needle was stuck and me thumping it a couple of times 'unstuck it'..I like the 40 Fairy idea better.

Congrats on the 40. The sender for the oil pressure gauge can be a bit finicky. Check the male to female connection where it plugs into the sender. On mine, I occasionally have to wiggle it a bit to get it to make a good connection. You can take some steel wool and shine the connecters up a bit, and that should fix it. Hitting big bumps and such can easily bounce that little connector around, so that's probably your issue.

If you're looking to get 33x9.5 tires, you're probably going to be out of luck. Nobody seems to make them anymore. I've got 33x10.5 and they are great tires. If you decide to mount a fifth wheel on the spare, you'll need a spacer to make sure the tire clears the body. Good luck with the base lining and welcome to mud!

thanks for the info..there are heeps by the ton around here - Im thinking I could easily downgrade with someone. Still unsure of price difference.

Secondary idea..I have this night vision goggles can

I immediately thought of using this as a center console or under my drivers seat..its air tight and you can find these or ammo cans all over this county..Its a no-go under the seat - didnt think about the latch being unreachable if it was underneath seat - nor did I think of the gas tank line running between the seats.

Still thinking I can use these cans and throw in extra fluids and tools..but Ill come back to this idea later Im sure..

Happy Fourth of July! We got out first thing this morning - I checked the fluids in the front pumpkin and the transfer case - learned how to adjust the carb..we took her out on hwy 24. Ran her up to topspeed...of 50mph. Ahhh life in the slow lane! We ran her up to the gas station and back.

We did look at adjusting the drum brakes..but the beach and my board need some quality time today..

It's not the same can, but i used an ammo can like that to make a center console. it's was pretty easy.
if it had it to do again, I'd cut off and weld a hinge on the back, instead of bolting down the latch, it's kind fussy to close as is.

It became obvious at 50 miles an hour that the hardtop will need work..time for more research!

Ive also got random interior shots, and from the undercarriage for all of yall..I would ask one favor before you critique my girl..if you see something that needs immediate attention - tell me it is- if its purely cosmetic well, Im not worried about putting make up on her - I dont want to do a stock restoration, I want to drive her, upgrade somethings for ease of use (in 5 years - she'll be my daughters first vehicle-MAYBE)

Good luck on the new hobby. Those ammo cans make great dog seats.

In the photo that shows the small bracket that goes between the windshield and the piece over the driver side door, those two missing screws should help with the rigidity of the top. I think those are a standard M6 screw that you can get from any hardware store.

And then the photo from the other side shows the same bracket completely missing. Someone who has come across an unsalvageable hardtop has got to have one of those brackets laying around.

I will check on the screws tomorrow, thanks!
