The glitz I like least on the Platinum and Limited is that chrome strip. How is that attached? Is it bolted/riveted through the doorskin or stuck on?
I think it's stuck on but I'm not willing to try it for now. My platinum sees a lot of gravel roads so I'm sure it's scratched under there and I would have to get it detailed after I take it off. I don't really mind it that much anymore. I think it looks great with the chrome grill.

I'm I the same boat: nothing nearby so I am sending emails all around the country. If I can find what I want @MSRP I, too, will jump and just have it delivered. Crazy times.

A couple of early responses were to the effect that 'we don't know what we will have or when, but if you give us a deposit, we will put you in line and let you know when something comes up'.
This dealer has a TRD Pro listed at $1k below sticker. No affiliation here. Looks like a decent deal if you want one in black.

Wow! thanks! I appreciate the effort! First one I’ve seen below sticker. I am spending a lot of time searching, so well-done.

I have said I would never own a black vehicle but, given the state of affairs, may have to reconsider. I am traveling right now and will talk it over with my wife ….

not to be overbearing, but if you come across another, please let me know.

No problem! If I happen to see any others I’ll post it here.

I hear you on being hesitant about a black vehicle. My F350 is black and it can be a pain to keep it clean. I’ve sort of let go of my OCD with it though, and I don’t regret getting it in black.

I thought the same thing when I got my 14’……,.but it looks so good when it’s clean!!!! :smokin:

Beautiful rig! Nothing beats a clean black truck. I wouldn’t let the black color deter me from buying a vehicle I like. In fact I think it looks fantastic on certain vehicles, like this one.
Thanks! Gray was my first color choice then this dropped in my lap and I couldn’t resist……I’m actually glad I got black!
I can’t open that link above anymore but I think I found it when I searched……..was that in Heath, Ohio? That’s about an hour from me!

Yeah it was in Heath. Looks like the vehicle is no longer listed for sale. So I guess it was sold.

That was fast!
Maybe still worth a phone call for the original poster to check.

But not surprising if it sold, since most dealers seem to be asking a markup and this one was listed under sticker.

Perfect Tommy - I think if you keep looking you should be able to find one at MSRP. I’ll keep an eye out as well.

You all are great. Very impressed with this forum: responses are spot-on, and actually digging up cars is a generous thing to do.

Thanks, all who have responded, and especially @goodnightnyc and @Farnsrocket. I have been traveling and not able to access this reliably, but intend to really hit it hard in the coming week. Thanks to the respondents here I think I will broaden my search. To wit:
in addition for searching for the elusive TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, will also look for it in Grey, maybe Silver in the Sport and SR5; wife has nixed anything else …
also will look for TRD Sport and SR5 configurations in 4wd and with leather with the idea of adding the few, stouter, suspension and other parts to end up with what I want;
since I know it is possible, am culling the many sales contacts down to those who will commit to sell at MSRP.

Weird time of year: a lot going on for us but the search is becoming more focused and interesting. Just have to allot time for it.

No worries at all. Happy to help out.

This market has taken some of the fun out of the car buying process. I usually enjoy shopping around and looking at cars, but dealing with the lack of inventory and greedy dealers asking for markups wasn’t fun at all.

Anytime!

Edit: scratch this it’s RWD!!!!

the search continues:
have been informed by a couple of dealers that it is not even possible to order a truck: they get what they get, must take whatever is shipped;
a couple dealers wanted $1000 to get on a waitlist, not going to do that;
so, am on a waitlist for the TRD Pro with one of the large-volume dealers (who still required a fee, but much less), but also will be informed of any other Sequoias that are incoming;
also in continuing contact with a few others who are reputed to be MSRP dealers. Same story: cannot anticipate what is coming, we will let you know, but it won't be many;
one dealer can get a Limited, but not sure I want to go that route (swapping hard-to-get parts to make what I want) just yet. It is still early ...

Going to hold out a bit for what I want, but keeping door open to a TRD Sport or SR5 that can be more easily modded to what I want; maybe even a Limited, but that would be a lot of parts-changing.

This dealer has a ‘22 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock. They’re asking a $5k markup though. I had contacted them a while ago when I first started my search. I told them I won’t pay over MSRP. They still haven’t sold it though and keep emailing me. So maybe worth a shot if you offer them sticker price and they want to move it.

Thanks! Just emailed them. Said I am eager but not at that price nor with all the extras. Also noted I am an MSRP guy. Asked to remove the junk, and give me an OTD price. Should be interesting. Could be they are keeping it around to draw interest with no intention of selling right away or of reducing price for a while.

”Hey, we know what we’ve got”. “Extremely rare and high demand vehicle!”

Will post the response here.

Sounds like a typical greedy dealer.

Not disappointed!

The dealer still wants a $5000 market adjustment to this rare vehicle. Also larded on a bunch of: 'protectant' for inside and outside (the last thing I want is dealer-applied ceramic paint treatment ... and who knows what they applied inside); cables, sill and other protectors, etc.

Best of all, I need to hurry, someone is coming in later to probably buy the truck.

WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!
