I have been looking for an 100 series LC/lx for while and I have found one that will fit the bill for me, I think. It's an 01 LX w/108k. Black on tan, one owner, clean car fax but showing a low speed parking lot bump causing the right rear corner paint flaking off. All 4 of the AHC shocks were replaced by the selling dealer along with all 4 accumulators(whatever that is). Everything works as it should. Dealer is going to find out tomorrow if the timing belt has been done, if it hasn't, we will have to renegotiate. Does $10,700 seem like a decent deal? Dealer is offering me 1500-2500 more for my trade than anyone else has offered me, so that is a major factor

Sounds like a good deal to me, but the mileage isn't such a big deal, IMO. Just because it hasn't been driven very much doesn't mean it has been taken care of properly. Records, records, and oh yeah, make sure it has proper records. Look up the VIN on Toyota or Lexus sites and check out the history. A 14 year old 100 should have at LEAST 28 oil changes, diff fluids, tranny fluids, CV boots, timing belt/water pump, etc.

I bought my 98 LX with 238k, but EVERY SINGLE thing was done on time and by the dealer. My brother in law bought a 2000 with 120k that never had the belt changed and very little history. As the 100 series gets older, I think the people looking for sub 100k mile trucks are throwing the dice and focusing on only one small part of the whole puzzle. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a pretty good deal but I would look at that car fax and see where it has spent the majority of its life and if it is a NE truck I would definitely take a really good look at the underbody.

I live in Mobile, AL and the carfax shows it is a one owner local trade. I got up under the truck and saw No rust!

There are no maintenance records on the carfax, but I am going to try to go to the local Lexus dealer to see if I can get records. I don't think the locAl Lexus dealer reports to carfax

Google Lexus owners site and signup. Enter the vin as your vehicle and you'll see everything reported by any Lexus/Toyota dealer. I wouldn't trust what the dealer salesman says. I trust their site though.

I think you picked a good one. Did you ever find out if the TB was replaced?

Sounds like you got a good deal on a nice truck! Low miles!

We can't find any definitive answer on the tb, but the dealer agreed to pay to have it done

Well you can't argue with that. Congrats on the good looking 100.

Awesome, looks like you got a great deal - Congrats!

You stole it dude, relax. you'll be able to drive it five years and sell it for 10k. nice work.

OP, you totally stole that car, with a timing belt change as cherry on top. In my area, your LX would easily fetch $18k.

great buy, and getting TB and WP thrown in makes it even sweeter. I went and looked at an 03 LX the other day with 145k miles on it for 15 just to compare.
