Yes 8 G's for a 91 with that many miles is too high. I would hold out for the 93+ because of the different engine and the lockers front and rear option. Well worth it and you can find one for that price. As far as maintanance for when you first get it I would do all the fluids in it because that is the one thing cruisers always need is changing fluids and mine was dry as a bone when I first bought it cause the person berfore me didn't know what they were doing. Oh and welcome to the board! You will find it really helpful. I know I do!

Another mod to add to the list -- rear bumper (Slee/Hanna/Kaymar/etc.)
Replace dome lights with LEDs from www/taskled.com
Get the transfer case skid plate from slee offroad.

Search some more for other mods...

That would be your valet switch for your alarm. It looks a lot like mine. Which I am having problems with! (See my alarm thread).

I would say its a Valet switch too, I have a remote start on mine with the switch in the same place.

Forgot to mention.
I think a throttle knob would be good if you had a winch, With an Automatic it kinda is useless...Untill I need one, Im sure.
TLCA sign up is a great way to read up on the going's on.
Get a Facotry Service Manual(FSM)
I wouldnt worry about lockers till you really need them, You will be very suprised at how well they work without them, If you were to go out and wheel the hardest trail in your area, I think you would need a bigger list than just a locker ie. sliders, afore mentioned rear bumper and lift...The like.

Alright, I named it Mike cause I have a really good buddy of mine who is over in Iraq right now, serving 18 mos plus, and so it was kind of a cheesy way of saying thanks.

Yeah, I gotta get a FSM - where, besides the Toyota hut here, would I get one of those?
