Thanks for the explanation - as I said , not into the social media idiocy myself . If it's about content and can help with limiting (no offense) worthless posts I'm all for that . Try TacomaWorld once , the number of people that use quote reply with imbedded large file pictures makes reading that site nearly impossible - especially when trying to learn about some very specific tech in complicated modern trucks .

@woody - coming from an IT background I can understand your frustrations when upgrading forum software, only to be welcomed back with gripes and complaints. It's a thankless job for all of the work that goes in the background and I can definitely appreciate the work that has gone into the forum upgrade and data migration.

The upgrade was your baby and nobody will care about it as much as you do, so you can understand that most folks (including myself) only opened the test environment for a few minutes and then closed it. I would say this was mainly due to a clone of data that was not real-time but a snapshot of the past. We do this all of the time at work, but being that it's a test environment, I suppose you could say that it's more of a "playground" and not many people will go in and find your bugs.

XenForo has been a great transition. I agree that the "like" feature will cut down on the crap posts agreeing with each other and more meaningful content will be much easier to find (only if people use it).

With all that praise (you didn't think I would throw my 2 cents in, did you?), I do have one suggestion for the site. There are two methods of attaching pictures to threads and it looks like most folks like to use the integrated software to upload where I like to use an external service such as imgur and utilize the tags. When a user attaches a picture using the integrated uploading, a user viewing the thread then has to click on each picture and then go back into the thread to reference what the OP was referring to when they posted the picture. This makes for an inefficient viewing/reading process.

PS, to you folks that are complaining about signature lines being too long, suck it up and turn them off in your preferences.

EDIT: I just created a new thread and saw that there is an option to embed the uploaded pictures inline or thumbnail. Is thumbnail default if you don't select any options? Is there anyway to make this option more prevalent to users? I don't see the option to force all thumbnails to load inline in the thread in my preferences.

The OP can insert images one at a time...that decision is theirs to make, and the system for XF is easier than for VB since the images appear below the text body as you type, and you can easily place your mouse somewhere and insert each image fullsize where you choose...or insert all at the bottom following the text.

IMPORTED pics came in as thumbs. I hope to have the script in hand today to begin converting all of those from thumbs to fullsize images. It is a non-published script that a friend developed...so I'm being patient :)
