Hi all -

Wanted to thank you all for all of the helpful information that you've poured into these forums -- it was so helpful in the process of procuring my first cruiser. After salivating for years, I flew to New Mexico to pick up this hog and drove the ~12 hours back to Austin, TX. Spent all day Sunday deleting the Plasti-Dip that the previous owner had covered all of the chrome & emblems with. Truck is in excellent condition overall -- just a few maintenance items to take care of! Excited to get off road.

Nice. Keep the AHC if possible and don’t give Hill Country Yota Works any business.

AHC is in solid condition as far as I can tell -- does need new front shocks on both sides, though. Mind expanding on your take for keeping the AHC?

Re: shops, I've already taken the truck to AJ's Yotas and had a great experience so far!

Jack straw from Wichita!

AHC is awesome and rides super nice. Easy to maintain if not rusty.

Doesn’t have shocks but they’re hydraulic struts. If the struts aren’t leaking, You almost certainly need a torsion bar adjustment which will help get the front pressure to spec.

Might need new coil springs in the rear. Possibly new globes.

Check this out, it’s the best:

AHC provides an amazing ride and isn’t too maintenance intensive other than flushing fluid. The globes can be bought from Impex (Japan) at a very reasonable price that justifies keeping the system. Techstream will be needed to dial in pressures once globes are changed.
