i really need to get my OME firm sports installed so I can throw my two cents into these whole conversations. with all the steel on mine i think it should be just perfect, till slee hooks me up then i'll be golden ;)

Loud you'll really like the ome sports. Our rigs are set up pretty damn close (plus or minus some pounds) and they are a huggge difference compared to the chargers.

No more sway on turns and dipping of the front end. Or bouncing of the rear. Very responsive.

Hurry up and get them so I can know what you think! I KNOW you like to spend money.

As for me, I was hoping to get slee remote shocks on before Pismo 09! :D Didnt realize when slee informed me about the shocks that they were in the very beginning stage of working on these! The sports will have to do until Slee finishes them.

if I wait any longer they might be done! I drove the turbo truck when it had prototypes on the front, loved it.

Yoter,
Which sports did you go with the medium or the firms? I agree these shocks eliminate side to side sway and any nose dive. My issue is how they transmit any road irregularites to the vehicle occupants. You appear to be carrying more weight then me, since I don't have a winch or drawers and I think you might be running larger tires. The ride improves somewhat when I load up for camping but not much.

Which ones do you have?? I have the firms.

What do you mean by transmit any road irregulations? I bought them used off of a 02 LC owner who only had a lift. No bumpers or anything, and it rode very much like a bucking bronco. Almost made you sea sick. So I thought I would give them a shot for $200 for all four and less than 500 miles on them.

If that is what your talking about (the bucking bronco like ride) no mine does not do that. It rides awesome. Very firm, but not bucking bronco status. I do have a ton of s*** on my cruiser. Everything in my sig below. Also the new addition of a fridge and second battery.

Let me know if thats what you mean....

Yoter,
I have the firms, see the first post in this thread.

No, I would not go so far as to say "bucking bronco" ride, but it can be bouncy depending on road conditions. Pot holes, freeway expansion joints, un-even road surface you feel it all. Bump, bump, bump, it can make for a tiring jiggly ride.

Sounds like I am somewhere between the LX you described, "just a lift" and your rig when it comes to vehicle weight. The LX driver hated the ride you love the ride and I'm putting up with it. It appears that weight of vehicle is very important when fitting these shocks.

I ran heavy load (firm) OME nitrocharger shocks before this with only a lift and with my current configuration. I had no such comfort issues in both instances. Yes they were stiffer thern stock shocks but no where near this.

Not sure which would be better, sell these and try the new comfort version or use them to justify a winch and strorage drawers. (Yeah, like that will work with the wife). I may even put my bilsteins back on and see how that works. Took them off when I lifted and started adding bumpers, etc.
