Its been a long road but my 1977 FJ40 is finally running and driving. I am working on a video that tells the story of its transformation but for now here are "before and after" photo collages. As you can see in the before pics it was a rust bucket that only had a few engine components left. I bought it off of Craig's list from a guy who was going to part it out and started working with a lot of help along the way. Heartfelt thanks to Simon at Tyson Machine for making the head, crank, flywheel, and camshaft like new, to Ryan and the crew at OTRAMM for reassembling the engine, to Jesse Carville at Rubber City Land Cruisers for his superb finishing work (and for getting Jim Chenoweth to build me a carb and machine my intake manifold) and to Jayson Fox of the 40 Channel for all his help and advice. Last but not least, thanks to all the guys on this forum for helping me with a million questions along the way. stay tuned for the video!
