I like the black. My thoughts on bright calipers are: If you are sporting some nice brembo or wilwood six piston calipers, show em off. If you're running stock calipers, keep them a metal color, gray or black. Makes me think of the chrome windshield washer spayers that the ricers use, why would you want to show off a washer spayer??? Might as well add a chrome gas cap cover and some chrome windshield wipers.

True on the showing off high performance calipers, thats a plus. But with stock calipers and rotors, i figured red or yellow would be very un-cruiser like. I did see a camry with spray painted red calipers and what looked to be 26" rims. the rims werent bad, but it was the bright red that was. you could see the texture in the brake caliper. Therefor looked really ghetto. I knew black wouldnt show that and would hide them.

Looks really good.

I replaced my bearings, rotors and brakes this past week and had planned to paint the calipers while I had everything torn down but didn't get to it.

Maybe soon...

Edit: We need to get you some jack stands if you're going to keep working on that thing...

What color you thinking of?

And yea, jackstands would be really nice. I thought doing a hundred on 285 was a rush. Climbing under my cruiser with that jack blows my socks off.... I work non-stop om it. Im sure youve noticed

What color you thinking of?

Black. I actually bought the paint but with everything else I was doing painting the calipers didn't make the list.

It'll probably have to wait until spring at this point...

I had 4 tools.

Paint
wirebrush
tape
drill

It was pretty straight foward. i have about 100 miles on them now, and so far so good. They look much better on a very bright day. im free this saturday if you want to get together and check out the finish

what paint did you get?

For all that would like to see red/silver and the black.

Here are the pictures i went off of.

Peter- There is your silver

Kanaljen- There is your Red

and for the rest you know what the black looks like. ( i might photochop yellow in later) I can try to photoshop something if ya want. I enjoy the practice, im getting descent at it.

i think the red would show the texture of the brake caliper too much. therefor would not me beefy and well finished like the turbo's ceramics. Ill try putting yellow on.

Heres a quick yellow, well, more like mustard caliper

id be affraid to do this, have it look really out of place and have to end up sanding and grinding the paint off. So i stayed safe with good ol' black.... although im starting to do the red. I have to see over christmas. I may just have to get my paint thinner and tools back out :hhmm:
