Well after leaving it stagnant for almost a year I finally saved enough pennies to do some mods to the 80. :bounce::bounce2:

Decided to quit messing around with the ride height and went with the 6" Slees. Very nice. Now if I could just find some 5.29's and 39" KM2s... :hhmm:

Also got around to getting some of Marlins heavy duty Tie-rod/Drag-link. Good thing too, found my stock drag link was bent. Will hopefully get them on next weekend.

Sorry for the crappy pics, I was too lazy to move in into better lighting. :D

Wow!
You were lying low about upgrades and then BAMMM! Fixing the bathroom tiles etc - yeah right!

Really nice Bro - more pics dude cuz cant really see the improvement with the shadows and black liner. You need to show the rig on the next meet and greet.

 factor six!!

Looks great Mo:clap:! So do you still have my Atlanta address (thank goodness it is still here after the chaos of the last 24 hrs.) to send those FOR springs over;p? I don't mind paying for shipping;)! I can't wait to see it on my next trip out there:hhmm:!

Honestly the guy was painting my downstairs today while I installed the springs. :D

Glad to hear you didn't blow away, I was going to call you if you didn't post up soon. ;)

You are just jealous, come to the white side Luke.... :hillbilly:

Yeah, they turned out pretty bad. Alan has a good point that it all gets lost with the black liner and shadows. I will post up some better pics tomorrow.

Not sure what you mean by "just the springs or all the other stuff too" but it has just the 6" Slee springs for lift.

FOR doesnt make 6"?> you spoke highly about their springs.

Time for some monster meats!!!! Wow, i need that steering.... beefy!

Frankie makes "Tall" and "Short" springs that wind up at 3.5" and 3" respectively IIRC but they do not make 6". They are top quality springs and I am very happy with their performance. I have just been looking ahead lately on where I want my truck to be and what it's intended use will be long term and I just want the extra lift. I will be making rear upper and lower control arms along with some other work and I don't want to design everything for the lower lift now only to have to re-make it all later when I went up to the 6". I am trying to learn from the past and and not have to build my truck 5 times before I have it where I want it.  :D

Definitely could use some bigger meats but they will have to wait untill I get some other stuff taken care of.

Looking good Mo!

I had the Marlin steering stuff on my 60, STOUT AS HELL! Good choice!

I meant the other stuff like rods, stops, lines, DSs etc

You are just jealous, come to the white side Luke.... :hillbilly:

That is the plan........ I do want to get an 80 here, by the end of the year............

Cogratulations, Mo! Your truck looks great.

Hey, I've never had a pick set before, but I've used them now several times. They're very handy!

BTW, any plans for your cast-off parts?

Take care,
JR

Thanks Kevin.

Sorry Eric, I was having a bad brain day. I am running the 6" Slees obviously, 2" dropped bumpstops f & r, 2" swaybar ext. f &r, shocks converted to eye to eye f & r @ approx 4" longer than L shocks, adjustable panhards f & r, slee castor plates (for now), cv front shaft and soon custom rear upper and lower control arms.

That is the plan........ I do want to get an 80 here, by the end of the year............

Right on, good luck. If you get a white one the ribbing will be intense. :hillbilly:

Glad they are working for you. They are very handy.

Most likely will be selling them but not sure yet.

Took a better picture today. Not ideal light but it does contrast the liner/wheel opening/tires.

Looks Sweet!

How bad it the steering with the added lift?

I think I have lift envy! Nice job Mo! Looks fantastic.

wow, that thing is really sitting up there.

and, yes, sounds like you did it the right way.

:eek::grinpimp::D
Will you be relegating the rig with mostly offroading duties? Im just imaginging how the ride will be so different with the setup?

your pooch is gunna have a hard time leaping into the co-pilot seat now.

time for a taller dog!

kiddin ya....that's sick! me want that!

more info on the custom rear parts?

Nice stance, looks great! Im sure it will settle some, but thats probably a good thing. Your pic makes me want to go flareless.

Funny about the ride height and compromises associated... I get many passengers complimenting on how well my car handles despite the height, people always expect it to be much worse.
