Hey all,

Thanks to Maddbaggins I was able to get rid of the silly brush guard and replace it with an ARB winch bumper. The install went pretty easy thanks to all his experience and bad ass collection of tools.

Thanks again for the hospitality, help and showing me the that I really do not need a 6" lift.

Next up J's and L's ,CDL switch and 7pin mod.

Peace

-Evan

Way to rub it in! I don't even have a bumper anymore! :crybaby:

Looks good...you'll want some more aggressive tires to play with on the trails.

Do they not come with those little turn signal lights...or have you just not installed them yet?

It did come with those lights but I think with some help from Maddbaggins(he seems to be getting good with the tourch) we might mod those into mounts for decent fog lamps of some kind, after all I already have turn signals.;)

You need a 6" lift. :flipoff2:

Looks good.

I see you mounted up your lights. Lookin good!

Evan is being nice and not telling you guys that I put a little to much torque on the philips head and cracked the lens for the turn signal. :o Sorry about that :frown:

LOL yea that did happen but I was looking at those and I think the area around the hole really should have been reinforced. I mean the reason it happened is that by design you have to compress the rubber water seal and to do so you need to torque it down. no blame I really would rather have another set of lights in there anyway. These http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/p-3000.html :grinpimp: might be a worth choice.

Give ARB or the dealer a call and explain that the lens was cracked on installation, they will probably send you a new one, their pretty good about that type of thing.

thanks for the suggestion but I really want to weld a mount behind them and place something cool in them.

so lemme get this straight, you made up your mind you wanted the full throttle slee 6" and now, thanks to baggins, you changed your mind. what did he do, show you how a sensibly driven moderatley lifted rig will do almost whetever you throw at it?
GEEZ alvin, next time get yourself stuck on something:flipoff2:

You know me, I try to get stuck. My superior driving skills always prevail and I mosey on down the trail.

Yep Maddbaggins saved me a bunch of cash. once I actually rode in his rig and he flexed up and over a 3 foot bolder in his rig that was sitting on the side of the road I thought, If I get mine to where he is at I will be more than happy. If money was not a factor I might still go for the balls to the wall lift but I will always defer to people that know more than I do and Alvin really proved to me that I was being kind of silly. That said I may still go bilstein shocks and j springs. So I'm looking at $1500 or so on the lift I think, This also sounds a lot better to my :princess:.

Of course!

Evan, let me know when you are going to get the Bilsteins. Those are going to be my next shocks and I've been checking out what valving I want and which shock. There aren't to many choices in the heavy valving I was looking at. I will probably get them from Chirco. They're not that far from my house and the have been a Bilstien dealer for a while. (Chirco is a VW/dune buggy shop). Maybe we can get a break on 8 shocks.

Cool! will do. You mentioned that these are "eye to eye" do we need an adapter of some kind to use them with our shock mounts? Should I get the OME steering dampener or is there a Bilsteins choice for this? I'm thinking I will probably be looking to get the shocks and springs end of June or mid July but let me know when it works for you and well do the group buy thing at the place you recommend.

You can get eye/eye adapters at man-a-fre.
I'm not in a big hurry to get the shocks, so whenever. My shocks are still good and I figure it's gonna be around $500 or so for 4 shocks.

... Should I get the OME steering dampener or is there a Bilsteins choice for this? ...

I ran the original, worked well, pretty good unit. When it started to leak, shopped for a replacement, the OEM from Dan is $$$, wound up with a OME unit from Kurt. Those two were the only bolt on options that I found.

You have a yellow shock on your rig? I'm taking pics next time I see you!

Unfortunately all of my shocks are them yellow Aussie monrow POS's.:o
