Does anyone know where I can buy a reasonably priced set of fender flares for my fj62? I have some rust arround the fenders and would like to cut it out and clean up the job with a nice set of flares.

I bought the SOR flares that cost about 350. I didn't think the quality was worth the price. It was hard to attach and the fit wasn't as perfect. If you are serious about buying this type I can tell you more details or you can search through this board or www.cruizers.com(I am not sure)where I did a more lenghthy review.

Call Dan at 4wheelauto he has a few to pick from.
None are cheep!

Nobody makes nice flares for 60 series wagons. They all fit poorly and area major PITA to install. They all are expensive. :(

Sean, are you saying the HJ61's flares below are not OEM? They look pretty good to me. The FJ62's flares look ok too. There's another shot I can't find atm of a white and grey HJ60 with what look to be OEM flares.

Are these actually the custom flares being spoke of?

No, the HJ61 flares are OEM. I was just wondering if the flares devo was talking about were OEM or aftermarket. The OEM flares are way more than even the aftermarket ones. Close to $2000 new before discount.

I've seen some nice flares on various Cruisers. Most of the nice ones turned out to be OEM. I've seen some aftermarket flare installations that looked great, but in every case the owner of the truck said they were a MAJOR hassle to install because they were poorly made.

I'm pretty sure those HJ61 flares are OEM. Don't know about the white one.

Oh, you weren't talking to me! D'OH! There are at least 5 or 6 active IH8MUD members named Sean - sometimes it gets confusing, as it's not a very common name.

At least you spell it the correct way! :D

lol, I didn't even notice about the two Seans. Sorry!

Actually it doesn't matter which "Sean" responds as long as they can point me to a source for OEM flares for about $10 a corner.

Then I'd be

The flares that www.4wheelauto.com sells are TJM. Dan says he has very good luck with them and they fit well. The web site has a few pics.
Did the pic of the 62 that is shown come from the TJM site?

Flares on a 60???!!!

Look like some kind of Honda SUV deal to me. Just more crap to tear off in the brush.

The flares on the 61 are OEM Toyota and are made of a fiberglass/composite material. They bolt on and are a typical Toyota product. The one on the 62 are Spectors copy of the factory ones. They glue/screw on. They look OK but the fit and mounting is not that good. It took me many hours to get them only satisfactory looking.
