So I just picked up this 03 100 and I'm debating removing the fender flares. I took a peek at the rear passenger side and there's a small rust line. I've peeked at the other flares and it doesn't look like the other ones have this. I'm debating now if I should remove them. I've reached out to a local touch-up paint specialist and they may be able to do the work of repainting this without having to paint the entire panel. The other option is leaving them on or vinyl wrapping them in medium gray along with the bumpers. Problem is I can't find for the life of me a photo online of a 100 LC in white with gray fender flares and bumpers so I'm having a hard time visualizing it. All to say, I'm open to advice on which direction to take.

I have the same color and kept mine on because of the damage behind them. If you plan on removing the running boards and adding front mud flaps it looks a lot better, I think anyhow.

Mind sharing a pic of yours?

If you new new rubber gasket material for the flairs Amazon has the Bushwaker which fit. They Gulf coast flairs from what I understand are Bushwaker. If you decide to take them off reach out, I’ll buy a backup set.

I removed our flares - the fronts had a much bigger rust area underneath the leading edge than had started to show beyond the flare.

New here, but oddly enough in the same dilemma. Recently got a 2000, also in white, with the grey fender flares and running boards. The vehicle overall is definitely in rougher shape than yours, but one of the running boards is a little bent towards the rear and one section of the flare is already missing from the back drivers side. Based on advice above, sounds like I need to try to see what condition everything is in under the flare and then go from there. Little worried that it would look odd if I remove the flares but leave the running boards for now. Will take a picture if I do one or the other in case it will help with your decision to see it

Clean and touchup the rust, wait for touchup paint to cure, install a 3/4” strip of PPF (they sell it pre cut for door edge guards), then reinstall the flares. Should keep the paint from being rubbed away again.

I've considered getting the fender flares and bumpers vinyl wrapped in a glossy gray. But can't for the life of me find a picture online with this. So it's either I leave it the way it is, vinyl wrap it for $800 (already quoted) without actually seeing what it will look like, or remove the flares and get some minor body work done. ARGH!
