Fender Apron (1 Viewer)

A fender apron is the rubbery thing that is up in the front wheel well. It keeps dirt and grime off the engine. Of course I could pay $35 + shipping for one but I assume that some of us have a home made way to replace them. What material have you guys used to fashion one of these?

I just installed Rad Rubber liners on mine. They worked great. GXBob on Youtube made some liners himself.

I've been using Yota Liners for the past 4+ years. The fit isn't the best, however they have held up and done the job.

yes. just had a look at the rad rubber version you mentioned and at half the price, they look like a better option

I came across a detailed post on Tacoma World, but it didn’t seem to be very cost effective DIY Fender Seals for under $40 - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-fender-seals-for-under-40.597458/. ARK and RAD seem like good alternatives. I went with the ARK ones because of the material they use and they provide the most coverage of any ones I’ve seen. They’re pricey, but mine are still like new a year and a half after installing them. Some people have mentioned fitment issues. I didn’t have any problems, but I do vaguely recall that the order of attaching the fasteners makes a difference.

I have the ARK triXpoly with the micro mud flaps. I also prefer the material and coverage to OEM and other aftermarket options. My driver side took a little trimming and a new hole to install around my Fox reservoir, all others went in without a problem. Just wrapped up the first winter in the rust belt with them and they look new.
