Feeling the nee to do some maintenance.

So, since my FJ55 sat for about 25 years, I am thinking it may be a good idea to re-build my front knuckles, drain the diffs. Since I have never done any of this before, I am looking for ideas on how to go about doing all of this. Driveway, backyard, supplies, tools needed etc ect.
I also would like to install a locker in the rear.

Spotted your beautiful 55 at Trollhole's yesterday! It's the spitting image of the '79 that I have a minority ownership in with @aquatech3 that's parked just a few spaces away from where I saw it. Pretty awesome that you can drive it 400 miles round trip! What's Marshall doing to it??

Rear diff you can do in your driveway, no problem. Simple job and you probably won't even get your hands dirty. Front diff, too, but you may as well do it the same time you do your knuckles. Knuckles are dirty. The job is easier on the lift and can be tackled simultaneously by a bunch of drunk cruiserheads and a bearded man drinking Mt Dew. Frankly, I think it should go on the lift so that you can see if there is play in your driveshaft/bearings/etc.

To be clear, it can be done on your driveway. You just need some tall jackstands (you have a lift) and chocks for the rear wheels.

Thanks. It is there to have the Original cracked A/C evaporator replaced. Found another one, which is a pretty rare thing to find to begin with. The truck handles the trio nicely, to be honest.
I saw yours as well. I think that's the one I almost bought that Marshall was selling for someone.

diWe did your 40 at Glenn's. Not a really hard job, just messy. Yes a lift does make it easier, but a few jack stands and a rolling seat will do fine.
what kind of locker do you want to install. (and why). You really only need to lock if you plan to wheel it. Happy to help, but we have had bad turnouts at axle hamoms.

Make sure you get all Koyo or Timken bearings. Cruiser outfitters has some good kits. Cruiser Outfitters

I am in for helping on a axle rebuild. Only thing with these type Hamoms are if you get to many people working on it you tend to overlap or mis steps and with a steering axle that can be scary if checks aren't in place. Let me know when and happy to help.
