Hello, all! I will do my best to explain the issue below and get everyone up to speed. Yes, I plan to take my GX to the dealership next week if I cannot fix this myself.

2022 GX 460 with 40k miles

A few things to get out of the way:

1. Replaced the key fob batteries in both of my fobs with brand new CR2032 batteries.

2. Checked the vehicle battery with the car off with a multi-meter and it reads 12.7v

3. Yes, I have read the manual and read through the smart entry settings and the vehicle customization settings.

4. Disconnected the vehicle battery for 30 minutes.

5. Went through the vehicle settings > door settings and then the door lock settings. Verified the feedback tone is set to 7 for door lock and unlock.

6. Yes, I plan to take my GX to the dealership for warranty work if that's necessary.

Here are the issues:

When I approach the vehicle, I touch the door handle and the vehicle will unlock but it no longer makes an audible "beep" sound (feedback tone) when unlocking OR when locking. It used to do this, even recently. One beep for lock and two beeps for unlock. Yes, I have the feedback tone set to 7 in the vehicle door settings.

Additionally, neither key fob will lock or unlock the GX remotely. The only way I can get into the GX now is via the touch unlock on the driver door handle. Yes, I have replaced the batteries in the fobs with brand new batteries.

I have not checked the fuses for the audible feedback tone yet, but that's next. I need to figure out which fuses are related to this. But, I would assume other things wouldn't work since fuses are tied to multiple things. Everything works except the audible tone for lock and unlock and the remote lock and unlock with the key fobs.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Someone just replied to my post on FB with this response. At least I know I'm not going crazy now, lol:

"I had this exact issue with a 2023 GX. All you said above happened. I ended up taking it to the dealer and they reprogrammed it. No charge of course. It was literally 1 week since I drove it home and then out of nowhere it happened. The tech that worked on it said he had never seen that before. It just lost programming.. weird…. After the reprogram it was back to normal. Anyways I don’t have that one anymore. Have a 2021 now."

Does anyone know where I would go in techstream to reinitialize the keyless entry system?

If you do check your fuses, here's a link to all the fuses: 2015 Lexus GX 460 fuse box diagram - StartMyCar - https://www.startmycar.com/lexus/gx-460/info/fusebox/2015
Also, not completely related to your post, but still within the ballpark, I just found out a few weeks ago that if your fob battery is low, it will display a warning on your center screen (where you scroll through temps', MPG, etc.) of the binnacle.
Appreciate the fuses link, I will check them. The only reason I think it might not be a fuse is because the ONLY thing not working are my key fobs (even with brand new batteries) and the audible 1 beep for lock and 2 beeps for unlock. The remotes will not remotely lock or unlock the doors anymore. Only way I can get in is from the drivers door handle. I have been told that the keyless system needs to be reinitialized? I have techstream installed and the cable is on the way. I just need to learn how to reinitialize the system.

Hey all! I FIXED the issue! I wanted to share this fix as it was very annoying. I spent hours researching this fix and I wanted to share the knowledge.

Do all of this at your own risk!

1. Download Carista app
2. Either use their dongle from their website or you can use an OBDLinkMX+ like I have
3. Connect your vehicle after connecting the dongle > connect via bluetooth
4. Launch the Carista app and search for your car
5. Go to the customize settings once Carista is logged in (you will have to pay for the Carista app, I just paid the $14.99 price as this was worth my time. I promptly canceled the subscription afterwards)
6. There's a setting under Locking: Automatic called Wireless Door Locking - change this to ENABLED. Mine was disabled
7. Turn your car ignition back off and exit the vehicle. Lock the vehicle and then use your remote "remotely", it should now work

I hope this helps out anyone who's having a hard time with this issue. The $14.99 it cost me for the app was well worth my time and effort. Now, I don't have to go to the dealership!

See photos below, one shows the Lexus vehicle door lock customizations and the other two are the Carista app settings I mentioned above!
