So I checked out a couple of Wayne's Lj71s on Wednesday....one in particular....super tight little rig, zero body/frame rust, and totally unmolested modification wise. My only concern lies in the fact that I'm looking for a longterm investment in a commuter which eventually means repairs. Anyone aware of quirks or cautions common to these lightweights. The 2L-T came to Canada in minitrucks for a couple of years in the mid 80's so engine parts shouldn't be a problem. Does the 2L-T have the expected lifespan that the 2H and 3B share (my 2H just hit 410K last month before the transfer case failed)Axles are similar to minitrucks so I assume they share the same seals, bearings, even birfs? Can anyone confirm. I'm vague about the tranny and Tcase. Does anyone know if they are specific to the LJ or do they cross over to other cruiser/minitruck models
4 years ago I bought a nice HJ60 with intention of leaving it stock. Now it's SOA, 35's, shackle reversal, locked, armored, sliders, etc....damn enthusiast bulletin boards
. Anyway, I have no intention of building this rig up. It doesn't need to be big and burly. Just stock and reliable...will probably do the propane injedtion and 31's just to make myself feel adequate.
Any other opinions/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
