This is the build up of my 105 series cruiser.

Part time shift on the fly 4wd

Things to do.

This is how it started life with me.

Then it went to get its tail cut off:cool:

The cut was made right in the middle of the child seat mounting bolts on the floor.

Then it was time to hand make the back wall.

Back wall done:clap:

Then it was time to make the tray, i wanted a style side not a tray back. I purchased a 2007 Toyota Hilux (in oz) dual cab sr

100_1604.jpg

Had to cut about 300mm (12") from the front to shorten it, then add about 200mm (6") to the center to widen it enough:mad:

Note the wheel arch before the cut and now with the front taken off.

WOW!

Outstanding work, story and pics! This is all done yourself and/or by a pro?

takes some serious guts to do this to a new truck!

This is definitely Featured100 material!

(would it have been a tad easier to get a 7x series pickup? less fun admittedly, though... :D )

Thanks.

I wanted a 6 seater dual cab ute, Could not afford a F series (to purchase or to run) so the 1998 LN167 hilux was sold and the 105 series came in.

The cab cut and tray were done by 2dextreme (not me), i am a panel beater but gave that up about 10 years ago after i fixed the hilux up (got it as a roll over, will post a pic of it)

The tray was preped and all was sent to the paint shop, done a great job with the paint. The next few pics are with the paint:doh: and the 3" spring lift.

Remember the tray had to be widened, done a pretty good job of it.

In the pic above you can also see the wheel arches, they are out of the wagon so they would be the same width as the wheel well on the back of the cab and so the fuel filler neck would fit.

Then it was time for some underbelly protection (my mum allways told me not to play with out protection so i thought i better get some)

hzj105013.jpg

A few pics from inside. And as you can see there is plenty of room behind the seat for tools and air comp

hzj105020.jpg

hzj105019.jpg

Got it home and got a custom cover made (there is a bit of timber under it there as it was bucketing down with rain. (the baer across has been made since)

100002.jpg

100001.jpg

New second hand wheels and tyres, had to were these out before i got some new tyres (tires)

100004.jpg

A bit of a play with out protection:censor:

Picked up a brand new still in the box Safari Snorkel from Binskins 4WD Center for $330 (ordered in for a customer that never came back to get it fitted)

100series2001.jpg

And you can see the step/sliders are back on as well

100series2003.jpg

You can see in this pic that the tray has a slight difference, but o well, and my young bloke loves it

Canopy getting made (by me) it came from a single cab tray back hilux, cut down about 1000mm in lenght and 150mm in width, new perspex made for back and side windows and i cut the hole bigger in the front so i could use the saftey glass for the front window

Only goes on for extended trips so we can lock the fridge up

Thanks, they also double as high lift jack points.
Here is a better pic of the top.
100series2006.jpg

tray is of to do some minor mods to the rear of the cab EG: weld holes up from the wiring and a few other things.

Next was to get the windows tinted.

I changed my mind , some MTR's came up at a VERY good price so i got them instead of the FC11's like i was going to get. I allso got 2 new rims for spares (6 rims all up)

Take one of these.

nice thread!
I'm stickiing it up as another Featured 100.

Coil springs are EFS "fine flex" 3" above standard.
Shocks are EFS "elite" and there are 3 deg castor correction bushs in the front. The general rule is 1 degree for every inch of lift.
