I might be working in the fayetteville area this coming spring for a couple of years. What areas are good and what places to avoid. We will be looking at furnished apartments. Depending on when I get there we might have to find a doctor/hospital for my wife as she will be 30+ weeks preggo. Any info would be great

Paging Darin.....Paging Darin. He's our local Fayettnam resident and I'm sure will chime in shortly.

first off ... im sorry :D
secondly darin aka krzyabncanuck should be along with some great local knowledge for you.

best of luck with the move and work, come out and join us for some fun as well

Def Darin he is the raeford area. Just outside of fayetteville. Mike (burt) lives in southern pines he might be able to help to.

Def talk to Darin. Also PM addicted56, he lived there also and his wife was a realtor in that area for years.

Give me a hollar one day during the day. Number on website. I would say welcome, but i would not wish this place on my enemy. Maybe i have been here too long though. But give me a hollar and we can chat.

Agreed :) I would wish it on my enemy though. None of the roads go straight to anywhere you want to go but I-95 is close by. Nothing but sand and pine trees as far as you can see and always about 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the state (so means Hot as S$*T). But I grew to love the place and some of its people...esp ONSC.

Southern pines is a nice place with a family centric vibe. Small community feel and totally opposite of fayettnam. Might be a long commute depending on where you are working but i know a lot of people that don't seem to mind. Really good medical access and a whole bunch of new moms around here too. If you find yourself over this way just visit my parents coffee shop and start asking questions. You'll find out everything you need to know in a few minutes. Java Bean Plantation on broad st.

Sean O lives there too but I think that will be a little far to drive. There will be a crew there with me so we kinda need to stay in the same area.

Whats up Johnny boy. I will be glad to get back to the east coast and closer to our home in VA.

Not much man, just wrenching away! It'll be good to have you back on the east coast! Uwharrie is a pretty good place to go wheeling.

Even if Fayetteville isn't the most exciting place to live, you have Raleigh only an hour's drive or so, the coast only 2 ish hours away and the mountains 3 hours away. This is a pretty cool region as a result. That is besides the fact that there are tons of cruiser heads as well :D

Is the move official yet or do you have to wait for the final word?

I have to wait. Wont know until a few weeks before the move which sucks but thats the way my job is. Our house is about 184 miles away so we will be spending most weekends there and I dont need exciting any more. A 15 month old boy and one on the way will be all the excitement I can handle. Its getting close to my bed time now lol.

Well I got word this morning its looking like may time frame when we head that way. Going to be fun traveling with a few week old baby and her big 19 month old brother. lol

Sweet! Good luck with the move! If you need help with anything, just let us know.
