...and we decide to take a day trip into the oxbow via the dry wash.

We follow the wash as far as we can, but it narrows until we can go no further. We have a beer before turning back.
I'm blessed enough to live in one the most scenic places on earth...but damn this doesn't doesn't suck! Entertaining story telling helps too, thanks boys.

ok. As an uncertified plant dork. I was totally geeking out on the flora everywhere on the trip, but right here in this moment especially!
The desert is beautiful in bloom.
The sight of the wash growing thicker as it disappeared towards the clif and the obvious source of water becoming a thick oasis of trees and shade. All with the backdrop of endless oranges, purples and whites of the wild flowers. Mind blown ..... Again. Nature at its finest.

I have to crash through a few dead bush-trees to climb the hill with the log-beast, and C-Drew spots me back to it. We choke it with a tow strap, and I whisper theough the air vent to my motor that she is strong enough - that she was built for this...

Dang. I'm away from 'mud for a few days and suddenly there's 16 pages of posts in this thread?!!? You guys were way too active on this trip. Maybe I can catch up within the next week or so.
I'd lay decent odds that the view coming back from the creepy (seemingly deserted) houseboat commune looked something like:

So I've been on the Alaska Cruiser Trek and this is not far from the truth. Except it wasn't spam, it was hot dogs, and instead of wonder bread, it was more hotdogs. The condiment of choice is Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Seriously, I saw one of the guys eat nothing but hot dogs and beer for a week, and the buns were gone on day 2, and the beer by day 3. It was still awesome. Wet, but awesome.
