I fully did a one wheel up brodie around that fire pit on the arrival of that beach, screaming "yeehaw!"

Only thing better would be blaring out the Rise of the Valkyries tunes like in Apocalypse Now from a loud speaker on top of the Cal King on my roof, but all I have is a dinky little 4" Blue tooth speaker. And sadly no Wagner on the Itunes.

Captain Benjamin L. Willard: Are you crazy, God damn it? Don't you think its a little risky for some R&R?
Lieutenant Colonel William "Bill" Kilgore: If I say it's safe to surf this beach, Captain, then it's safe to surf this beach. I mean, I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'll surf this whole fxxxing place!

Thanks! I wish I could even say we are exaggerating or making this stuff up. But this is exactly how it went down. If anything, we are leaving a lot out.

I am thankful that I was fortunate enough to be part of it.

*ahem*

Soooooo...

I think we are all pretty whooped by the end of that day. We go to bed eventually to rest up and let our burns heal.

We wake up the next day to absolutely beautiful weather. And absolutely ZERO evidence of our fire. Maybe a few coals at most.

Again, I go find the most picture-perfect spot to be one with nature. It happens to be on the point of the peninsula, and if boats pick now to cruise by, then more power to them.

We have all day to do nothing, so no one is in a real hurry.

@jfz80 is making some jalapeño hash browns, and I am making some smokey chipotle cheese grits (I pronounce it "polenta" to try and con the West Coasters into eating it).

@beno doesn't give AF about the meal schedule - he decides that this is the morning he is going to learn how to cook, dammit.

He can light his own smokes and make his own coffee, but that is pushing the limits of his culinary prowess.

He breaks out some bacon and Mrs. C-Dan's eggs. And, kinda like if you were to leave your dog's entire week's worth of food out - he goes on a rampage. "Rationing" is not in his vocabulary. He cooks the entire package of Black Forest Bacon all at once (hey, no complaints here, that sh!t is delicious), and is determined to learn how to cook the perfect fried egg.

Luckily C-Drew was standing by to give lessons.

He actually does a pretty commendable job, and then toasts up some of Mrs. The Shaman's homemade bread to soak up the bacon grease & egg yolk.

oh dood...that bacon was like Bacon Epic level 2 at least...serious grub.
But he butchered the flip.

how come all my pics of drew are like the neighbor from Tool Time?

It's like the rainBRO from last night was trying to come out of the steamer...that coffee was the best.

oh, I know why..it's so the crack heads that he bought the stove from wont track him down...

What do you mean? you don't put a stove on top of a stove at your camp?
We're still operating at a mean level of Epicness dude. Even pre-coffee.

Speaking of coffee, we had just like totally bitchen coffee up til this point. Like my parking brake and winch cable, repairing my milk steamer did not get crossed off of the to-do list before the trip.

So this rest-day morning, Andy put the new steam arm on my steamer while I tended to my breakfast.

Steamer fixed, we will now be able to have Holy Epic Level coffee. Not espresso mind you, but fairly acceptable.

no k cups?

While I'm showing off my loot...

Steve1 wanted to check out my new custom radiator, which was still in test-mode and was just installed a few days before leaving. And whose performance I'm (cautiously) totally happy with so far on the trip.

This too, drew crowds from miles around...
