Well, BF is here so it's time for some reckless spending. RCI is having 20% off so I want to get a full skid package. Engine, tranny, t case, diff, catalytic converter, and fuel tank. Any reason not to do everything? How does everyone like their plated sliders? Others I should look at?

This is our road trip vehicle and dog hauler. Winter ski trips and hiking are the closest it has gotten to off-roading, but I’d like that to change. I want it capable, but still able to hit the grocery store. It’s not going to go rock crawling but I do want to add a Total Chaos kit with 2.5s when these tires are done. I still need to fit in parking garages with the roof rack.

I’m eying the RSG bumper. Any issues?

Your thread lists sliders but you then mention skids, which are you after?! :)

Budbuilt has full set or ala carte skid plates available and their front skid is a fav in the community due to it's convenient oil filter access port.
Plenty other skid options like LFD, Victory, CBI, Talon's garage, RCI, etc.

For sliders, I'm a fan of Expedition one due to their OEM-like look, different to other tubular versions out there. Victory also makes a similar version and they are currently having a 10% off sale.

I don't have RCI sliders but I have all their skids. Reasonably priced and is a good product so I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of their stuff if I needed.

I run Victory sliders because of the OEM styling that @xychromosome mentioned. I ran them without a lift for a while and they just look like they fit right in. They also have "fixed" the old KDSS skid design and the new one is really beefy.

I liked the ExpOne sliders too. They look very nice.

My 2017 GX460 is setup with RSG sliders, CBI Covert front bumper, and CBI aluminum skids. The RSG bumper wasn't around when I was looking. I think the tubular style sliders give more of an offroad look while the step sliders like Expedition One give more of an OEM look. If you're going with the RSG bumper, I think a tubular style definitely matches better. I haven't been able to do too much beyond forest service roads, but hopefully that'll change soon. If you get the CBI bumper, check for interference with any hard lines after the bumper is mounted. I had to make a notch in mine to clear what I think was an AC line and I warn about it every time the question comes up. The CBI front skid doesn't have a reinforced jack point like I think the Bud Built does. It's kinda of a pain not being able to jack from the front center. I've tried and it seemed to support the weight just fine, but I was also quick to slide my jack stands under the frame.
