On the way to work about 10 minutes ago I noticed the truck idling and driving rough. Couple minutes later the check engine light started flashing along with the VSC TRAC and VSC OFF lights coming on.

Was able to drive the mile back home and is now parked in the driveway.

Am I able to drive it to a shop? Hoping coil pack but the VSC TRAc and VSC OFF are scaring me.

What else could this be?

Thanks in advance.

Stopped at a shop and they refused to check the code, going to drive about 5 miles up to my trusted mechanic.

Thanks for the quick responses guys I will let you know what the code is.

Refused to check it?? LOL, they must hate the possibly of making money. Autozone and places like that will check it for free. I had a coil pack go out over the winter and this sounds exactly the same, minus VSC lights since I don't have that.

Be interested to see what this ends up being though most likely coil pack but never know

Noticed you have a white 2000 also and from Orefield, I am only about 35 minutes from there, small world haha

Turned out to be coil pack for cylinder #3. Everything fixed and back to normal. Thanks for the quick responses. Yeah the first shop I took it to the guy said he wouldn't work on a Japanese car. At that, I walked out the door.

Timer: Pretty cool I didn't know there was anyone around me, if you ever want to hit some trails with my Jeep friends and I shoot me a PM. Also if you're mechanically inclined and willing to help with suspension installation I would forever be in your debt! About to order a kit and am trying to stay away from paying a shop to install.

Yea I have no one in my area that I know at least to go wheeling anywhere. I am mechanically inclined pretty much since working on my 80 and doing all the work on that along with various cars I have/had. The key of course is having the right equipment for the job and a nice flat hard surface especially for suspension installs of course.

I'll have to PM you then
Thanks
