I am putting together a posse for a 2 week Colorado truck supported gravel/mountain bicycle trip for the wheel chair crew (“you know your over the hill when your mind makes a promise that your body can’t fill”).
Dates: mid-sept 2023
Location: Colorado
Trail: Rimrocker (Moab Ut to Montrose CO). see Home | Rimrocker Trail - https://rimrockertrail.org/ and attached. 160 miles of mellow (Subaru friendly) gravel road pure pleasure. Note that are several areas where you can join/drop out if not wanting to do the entire trail.
I envision having each couple (or more if you plan on supporting more riders) having a 4-wheel drive with capacity to haul your bikes and overlanding gear (water, shelter, beer, etc.). Figure trading off and on driver/bike rider as required. Say 4 hours of slow truck movement per day (approx. 40 miles). Then having low/no stress group camping for exaggerated story telling.
Note that there are 4 wheel drive rigs for rent. This is not a hard-core trail.
Throw it in your calendar, let me know your interest, and we’ll touch base in a few months…..Yeehaw!
The good:
the bad
