The fake wood is starting to peel above the memory seat buttons and I can see a hairline crack. I'm gonna try to squeeze some epoxy in between as a fix. Anyone else have this issue?

My 08 LX is doing the same, no crack however. Haven't tried to fix it yet though. Update if you figure something out!

+1 on mine as well, as well as the as tray!!

The wood on my 2013 LX started to warp in the same spot almost immediately after I bought it. The Lexus dealer had to replace the entire door card as they couldn't order just the wood piece. Seemed like a huge waste to me.

Updating this thread. Not sure if this is a coincidence but the dealer had to remove center console and driver side door panel to diagnose airbag ecu and side mirror wobble respectively.

I did not notice the warping and crack but noticed this now.

Could this have been damaged while at the dealership?

Or normal wear and tear?

Thanks!

Really common on the lx. Every one I saw had it. I tried to put the slow set super glue behind it with an index card. It didn’t work. Stayed down for only a couple days. I think contact cement would work, but I haven’t gotten back on it to try.

Fake wood?

Fine bubinga wood, according to Lexus.
Well, .1-.2mm of it.

I was able to fix mine by removing the door panel. The wood part unscrews from the rear of the door panel. I used some 5 minute epoxy and clamped a straight edge over it while curing. Superglue or other CA glues will not work because they melt the plastic.

Does anyone know what the wood is coated with? I used glue on mine and ended up getting some on the outside surface. I want to sand off the excess glue, re-coat it, and polish it. I'm wondering if I can use clear coat for plastic.

Common issue on the LX, same thing on my 11.
