Fair price for CO2? (1 Viewer)

ABC Fire Extinguisher has been filling my CO2 tank for the past several years (after the dry ice place on West 4th overfilled it and cost me a recert ). Now they've jumped to $22.50 per fill...and it took them a week to get it done .

Just curious where everyone is getting their CO2 and what price? Hopefully the OBA project will materialize...but until then

I've been filling at ORI. They will do a partial fill so in the long run it's cheaper than Paxair or Sierra Welding. You just need to know the Tare weight of your cylinder.

I don't recall what they charge per pound though. You could give Don a call and find out.

Praxair was $12.00 +/- last time for my 15# tank (Within the last six months). Kent has always treated me well, but I have bought my Plasma cutter and my Miller 251 from him also.

I used to go the fire ext. place across from Sambo's first shop. They got up to $45.00 per fill and were complete jerks about it when I would walk in.

J: That was ABC Fire Ext that used to be across from Sam's previous shop location; that's how I came to use them for refills (after the bonehead at the Dry Ice place on W 4th overfilled it and I had to have it recirt'd by ABC). They started, back then, charging me $12 for filling my 10# and always had it done in a day or two at most.

Then they moved over on Telegraph a couple years ago. Now, after a couple price hikes, they're at $22.50 and take days if not an entire week as this past experience with them, to get it filled.

Crystal Ice is a joke. I went there a few times in years past and they charged me full price and only filled it half way. There were a bunch of guys on reno4x4 complaining about it too. The last time I went over there I walked around back where they fill at, and the guy got all pissed and said "you need to stay up front next time". I looked at him and said "last time I did that you guys ripped me off, so I'm going to watch you weigh it". I also told him several people on Reno4x4 were complaining. and he turned a 180 and was all nice and polite!


Just got back from ORI an hour ago, and Don filled my powertank up for $13.
