I have access to a 98 LC 100 series....same guy I bought the 93 LC (locked) has this as well and is selling same.

The only downside is that the 98 has 190 000 hwy miles on it. The 98 is in good shape and cosmetically and mechanically I am told, are excellent. The only other negative other than the miles is the fact that the LC was sideswiped on the driver's door, and the owner tells me that the door doesn't have that original feel when he shuts it.....there is no wind noise or anything though....

The 93 LC I bought has 218 000 miles on it and runs well.....he did not cut corners on maintenance----evident by the fact that the 93 still has its original engine and transmission.

Anyways....question is what is the 98 worth, and what would be a fair selling/buying price for it....??

It is fully loaded....as a 100 should be....including rear diff lock(if I remember correctly...(

Thanks in advance....

Dave

Not many 100's around with that much mileage on them yet so it's kinda hard to ballpark this one. Has the second 90k mile service been done on it yet? It should have gotten the big service done again at 180,000 or thereabouts.

Seems like we see alot of 100 series sales pop up at 85-100k miles instead of getting the 90k service. Interesting that this one pops up around the second time for that service.

I would think it should be on the lower end of the 100 series value range between the mileage, collision and possible need of the 90k service. Could be a deal. :D

Hi Dave:
Sounds alot like my 100. (206K miles and a wreck repair. My right door.) I think you should be able to get it for less than 10K. After all, it has been wrecked, probably needs a 1200.00 service and with that mileage, you just don't know. I will not hesitate to drive mine anywhere...and it has not been well cared for, other than very frequent fluid changes with synthetic, but I bought it new, know its history, and trust it.
Good luck..............

If a California car, then maybe $US 11.5k-- adjusted for rust bucket city... $10K or less. (assuming all maintenance completed)

Does the interior look good? It would be nice to have a $30k truck for $10k.

Try the drivers door for yourself as that could be annoying if there is really something wrong with it. But you know the guy is honest and takes good care of his cruisers so I see this as a pretty good opportunity and less risky than a sales lot purchase despite the high miles.

190,000 miles....that's high mileage. I wouldn't pay more than $5,000 to $7,000 miles for it. No telling what sort of maintenance fun will be required as the miles continue to tick.

But for $10K what would you rather have than a 100 w/190,000 miles?

(Inside for mobi-arc only) Shhh ... this guy will map out the high-milage problems for us (if they exist) and benefit the board. (daveb may resume reading)

I would start giving it some thought in the $7,000 range if I didn't really need it or care and $9,000 if I did... Look at it like where else are you gonna find a rig like that, on the flip side though even clean with lower miles I've seen some go for $12,000, maybe a little less...

Old thread but I'm wondering if he bought it?

Private Party value KBB for "fair" condition and 190k miles is $10,180...
