A couple weeks ago, the door ajar alert was staying on and I traced it to the front passanger door. I made sure the dome light was off a figured I'd fix it next weekend. Went to start the truck a week later and and battery was dead. Maybe I didn't turn the dome light off so I made sure again, charged the battery, and everything seemed to work fine. Went back out four days later, battery dead again. I had zero battery problems before the door sensor issue.

BTW, how do I solve the door sensor prob?

Thanks for the help, fellas.

I remember reading something a few weeks back about the doors unlocking when turning a corner and it was traced to a dome light switch on one of the doors. It had a short in it, if I remember correctly. I would take that switch out of the front passenger door jam and inspect it closely and it's attached wires.

yeah that's odd- I have something similar happening. My dome fuse was cooked and battery flat. It was 5 years old so I put new one in and now my truck turns the motor over but no start. I bought a multi tool to see if my fuel pump is not pushing fuel or what has happened.

Following this thread. I have been having more random old truck issues lately. She's not a daily driver any more but I am happiest when I'm the beast. My motoguzzi Stelvio is the daily....

She's not my daily either. Strange, it almost seems to have MORE issues when you don't drive as often.

Yes, your door jamb switch is very likely causing your problem. You can get a new door jamb switch. You can add some sort of spacer on your switch. Search and you will get the idea of sticking a piece of whatever to the "plunger". Or just get a couple new ones and swap the old out, because your driver side in next in line to fail.

Another possibility is that the door striker is out of alignment and you door isn't closing far enough to trigger the switch. You can adjust the striker to make firmer close. I had to do this on my passenger side front door, even after replacing the swith the courtesy lights would remain on with the door closed. A hammer actuated hand-impact driver, JIS bits and a hammer make it a simple job.

Yup. That too. I had that issue as well and adjusting the striker did the trick. Forgot about that part......Door would open slightly on hard left turns. Just pulling on the door from inside would close it enough, so I knew to adjust striker. But I also had an intermittent jamb switch. In the end it was a combination.
