Ok, if your carring stuff to repair a 12VDC curciut for a E-Locker, you would be carring a repair stuff (coupler/tubing) for an air locker.

You don't need to carry anything to fix it.

Just touch the Wires together to get a current going till the actuator locks them.

Unless it's already locked, then you wouldn't be able to unlock it without touching the wires again.

If you're up to your door sills in mud, and the Air Line breaks.... it's not so easy to just jump down and fix it. Hence one advantage of the ELocker over the ARB.

But there's so much more to consider than just that. I was simply pointing out a advantage of the ELocker.

Arndog,

How do they release? right away? Can you tell?

Jodo

I exercise the lockers at least 2x a month so they release almost instantly. If I listen carefully, I can hear each locker disengage along w/ the indicator lights on the dash.

Keep telling yourself that. :) Remember, there's a ton of folks on this forum and we all know the factory lockers regularly will NOT unlock easily depending on forces and their design. ARB's are the opposite. They almost always lock and unlock instantly. In a tight spot it's a HUGE advantage. In a dangerous place it's a blessing.

I don't have to worry about any of that. Aussie rules. :D

^^^ What he said.

It was my understanding that power is only required to activate or deactivate the elockers. Which means that a loss of power, say from a severed line, will simply leave the elockers in the state they were in prior to loss of power.

Also, I've been told that you can lock or unlock the elockers with a long screw driver. Never attempted this, never even looked.

As for my elockers engaging or disengaging, I've never experienced any problem.

And if that's all they're exercised you must not wheel much. Not an attack...just an observation.

Yup, the 80's are pretty much just used on the weekends and occasional camping trip. :D They get used a little more when the white stuff starts falling up here.:)
