....don't remember the last time that I only purchased one of something goofy Dave... ;)

I would bet that even you cannot read that without a 100 power hunk of glass to your face... ;)

THANKS DAVE!

This is what I am waiting on, just got to have the guy agree to a price.

OOoooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh-Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I hope the seller isn't reading this thread. That's the early Toyota can, not what you get if you order a new one. That is pure unobtainium in that picture. That carrier needs to be reproduced. :D :D

From the 1958 FJ25 Parts Book:

Remove the cap, tip the bottom up, and let gravity do it's thing... ;)

I thought in one of the links/threads there was a picture of an extension that you can thread onto it to try and control the mess a little.....but if these are anything like the older US cans....they are a novelty at best and leak when trying to fill anything.

There are newer NATO cans that are very nice, and seal really well...but they are not "Toyota"....

Thanks all

Just got to wait till he gets back early next week now, I hate waiting for stuff like this.... On replica's being made I don't have the skills or gear to do it but if enough expressed interest I would look into a shop doing a small run for y'all.
Thanks again.

You just need to get it....then ship it to Pakistan. ;)

'Scuse the ignorance

But why pakistan? Are they the experts in this sort of thing?

There is a fella out there doing great things for us 40 owners. :)

I was wrong about the 25s using the same type of filler as the new jerry can. The parts book has a pretty clear picture and it looks just like the one in the picture.

As far as using the filling with the jerry can it might have the same thread as the US jerry can since the can looks just like the US ones. You could just pick up one of the spouts for the old US jerry cans. If not you should just sell it to somebody with a FJ25 soft top. With the filler neck extension just park in by that weed that grows in the crack in the driveway and kill two birds with one stone.

Ehsan is doing some good stuff, only drawback is that he'll need a pattern to work from. Maybe with a picture though he probably has a better chance to find one there to copy.

It's the can carrier that is we're wanting reproduced not the Jerry can and that's because it's a Toyota design. The carrier may have been available back years ago but since Toyota didn't advertise them, who knew Toyota had them for sale?

Does anyone have pictures of the stock location of the spare tank as Toyota calls it? The parts books just show the tank and carrier but no reference to location on the vehicle. I have a FJ25 that had a US can carrier mount in front of the spare tire on the side but it was not stock.

All the pics I have seen showed the tank mounted on the qtr panel like your truck. It may not have been a factory mount but they could of used the stock location.

Thank for the infro. That's what I was thinking, couldn't make it worse for clearance since the tire is hanging off the side anyway.

I happen to have one of those gas can holders, minus the straps. Wonder if the straps are still in inventory somewhere? Came stock on my troopie. I tried a standard can but it doesn't fit. Wonder what this chunk of unobtanium is worth? :grinpimp:
