i have only seen them bolted thru the body...or on its own carrier...but...if you made an adapter like on old conferr...you could hang it off the spare tire:

i did some more searching through the EPC and they also list a bracket for the 70 series models and some 60 series that fits that toyota fuel tank #77100-60011 the bracket looks different than the 40 series bracket . 70 series bracket # is 77130-60050 i attached pics of the 40 series stuff and 70 series bracket from the epc. but both brackets fits the same can .so pic is deceiving
there also is a type A or B mount

here are the 70 series pics. from EPC tank is suppose to be the same for both 70 series and 40 series so maybe this newer bracket might still be available
looking at the pics the bracket looks the same just newer part number i think
