Replacing battery cables on Ruby (87 FJ60) wondering where the factory grounds are. Reason is: Currenty the ground from the battery had a lug spliced in and was grounded to the fram at the top of the fender along with the battery box cross brace. Ground terminated on the back of the AC compressor.

There is a ground wire free hanging from the frame.

Also, replacing the positive cable.

Any feed back regarding factory ground locations and +/- on using RV lugs will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

just pulled a motor from an 85 yesterday, one ground went from battery to battery box to the engine mount under the a/c compressor. another ground went from the frame to the starter. those were the only 2 I found

Thanks to all. I'll get those cleaned up and running to the correct locations. Hopefully that'll help!

Thanks again.

I also have 1 from engine block to middle of firewall

Good deal. I'll check that out as well.

Hey 3 Pups...: Which lug on the starter did that ground terminate? After crawling under the 60 the free hanging ground will not make the tfer case. Had to originally be hooked to the starter or join the ground going to the back of the AC compressor.

I've got some really dim headlights and these poor grounds can't help my dash lights either...

Thanks!!
