I am a new Hundy owner. Picked it up about two weeks ago. I am most likely the only one out there with this issue. It is an 05' with a tan interior. The factory floor mats (all of them) are light grey. They are in excellent condition. Even the rear is unsoiled  (something I can't say for our toddler).

Any chance someone would want to swap a set of light grey mats for tan ones? I will be going Weather Techs but would like to have the factory mats as well.

What you have is correct for 2005. The mats for "tan" come as light gray. I found that out when I ordered new mats for my previous 2006 100 series.

I have a 2005 with matching tan mats.......

To the OP. I'm not interested in a trade but might sell them to you, (if I can find them). PM if interested.

Hmmm ... I stand corrected. I had nice gray floor mats with my tan carpet despite ordering mats for the tan interior and I did verify the part numbers on the mats matched the part numbers ordered ... hmmmm ... perhaps the local stealer got me ... we all know that would never happen :o

Or maybe the PO or dealer of my truck changed them out. :meh:

Is this Correct

These can't be the right color?

I have a full set of light grey mats in my tan interior '04 and they came that way from the dealer. Irrelevant since I use Weathertech all around, but I always thought it odd that the "factory" color didn't match.

Got a 04 with tan carpet with grey mats. I always thought that the previous original owner got a bad deal with the dealer. But now it makes sense that tan floor mats would look bad very quickly unless cleaned very often. There are also hints of black and grey in the interior decor but tan/brown floor mats would look nicer.
I am just thinking of getting dark brown rubber mats because my 60 series has dark brown carpet with some tan in the interior and it looks good. If you going to have mud, snow and children in the area this might be the most practical and economical solution. BTW how much was it for the Weathertech mats for the hundy?

my used hundy came to me without any mats inside, so the weathertech mats were well worth the $200 i spent on them. the color match is pretty darn close and have held up very well to numerous spills, mud, snow slush, or whatever i can throw at them. the best part....take them out and hose them down when dirty :)

Don't waste any time or money on factory mats. Put that cash towards WT and you'll be happy. Especially with winter approaching.

Thanks for the info. Did this include mats for the third row seats (rear) or one for the whole cargo area?

I am going to order up the WeatherTechs as well. I just thought it was odd that Toyota didn't match the mats to the carpet. Mine are the original mats. It seems there must have been a tan carpet shortage in 04', 05' and 06' so they just made grey mats for all.

I am not so sure that Mr. T is working to match the colors of the mats to the carpet. The 2011s and 2013s I looked at when I was buying my 200 all had grey or black mats regardless of the interior color. The black interior 13's have grey carpet and black mats. The tan interior 13's have tan carpet and black mats. My belief is that Mr. T., for the US market has shifted to finding a mat that hides stains somewhat.

Which brings us to the question why not manufacture them with a heavy vinyl floor like the FJ Cruisers? The FJ's have the greatest floor lining placed in a vehicle in the last twenty years. IMO.

Because it's marketed in the USA as a luxury vehicle. Vinyl doesn't scream Luxury. Poverty Package overseas had vinyl IIRC.
