Sorry for the seemingly dumb question, but does anyone know what the optional factory first aid kit weighs? Or can someone weight it?

I want to install my ham radio body there which is just under 3 lbs but I don't want to put too much stress on the tabs that hold the door to the panel, causing it to sag or rattle.

Like this one (I assume the LC and LX have the same or similar kits):

Thanks for trying. You will probably need a kitchen scale to measure. If it's more than 2 lbs I would expect the door to be strong enough long term for the radio.

Way less. If I would guess seems less than weight of can of coke when compared. As scientific as I can get without a kitchen scale. So I would say 1/2 lbs. Note inside there are bandages, etc. The stuff inside is very light.

8.8 ounces. Your ham radio is definitely gonna break the door...

Why dont you just mount it to a wood or aluminum plate behind the door? The box for the first aid kit can easily be separated from the door too.

Wow, that's much less than I expected. I have a Adventure Medical Kit pack that fits in that space and it's almost 2 lbs.

Mounting it to a plate was plan B but the door is so convenient.

Slightly off topic. My '18 didnt come with the first aid kit. The adventure kits look good but which one fits the space provided?

I have the Weekender.

I was going off of memory on the size. I just went out and checked and it's a bit too large for that space after all. The adventure medical kits website lists the dimensions for their kits so you can probably find one that will fit in the cubby.

The cubby space is 2.75" deep x 6.5" wide x 6" high.

Mine doesn't have one in the space. I guess they were an accessory option?

Yes accessory option on the LC. Possibly standard on the LX not sure.

I recall every Lexus I've ever owned had an included first aid kit.

Our 2019 LX570 had it. I should have taken it out when we traded it in for the LC lol. Those kits are pretty skimpy so I am not missing much but it would be better than nothing. Now I can use the space for something else like emergency toilet paper and wipes lol.

8 oz. measured with a calibrated trigger pull scale. As was posted, it's not much of a first aid kit.
