My earlier post questioned about a fuel pump going bad overnight. Turns out the problem was electrical. The coil terminal on the cap was corroded so badly that hardly any contact was being made.
This is a 6 month old factory Denso cap bought from the local dealership. The plug wires say Yazaki and dont appear too worn. Plugs are factory Densos as well. The big rubber boot around the dist. is in place also.
The coil wire seems to be bad, meaning if you touch it, it will bite. I found this out after cleaning the coil terminal and putting everything back together.
The dealer said they would warranty out the cap if I can produce the reciept.
Should I put on another Denso cap? They seem good, and everyone here reccomends them, but I dont know about the aluminum terminals over say, copper. I guess I should probably do all new wires and plugs while Im at it also.
Any other suggestions??
