if they've done this to the LC, i wonder what the LX will look like.

Face Lifted LC..

This is probably a dumb question but will someone let me know if the previous LC US version is exactly the same as the Japanese model? Just wanted to know if these pictures will probably show up in the US as the 2013 model? ( all except for the steering on the right side, ha! )

OK, I guess, kinda like the happy face of the current LC. Plus the lower intake of the current LC makes it seem wider. The truncated intake of the new model makes it seem taller. I'm sure the detail improvements are nice though. Can't wait to see the final release.

Yes. I can recall all the Land Cruiser experts telling us back in the early 90s how Toyota had lost its direction with the 80 series introduction.

They claimed it was too expensive, too luxurious, too much this and way too that. Therefore, they could not see it performing properly offroad, or as an expedition vehicle, officially declaring it the equivalent of what is currently known as a Mall Cruiser.

Its nice to see that the experts are still at work, doing what they do best.

I do like how each LC generation looks like itself instead of Toyota trying to conjure some similarity to legacies that have long since past and will never return *cough cough* Jeep *cough cough*.

Front end with the projectors looks like crap but I do like the LEDs. . Circle fog lights bring the vehicle in line with all other Toyota's and almost every vehicle that is made now.

I do like the look of the minor interior upgrades to the interior.

Does anyone else notice the blue lighting on the interior door handles?

This vehicle is redundant. I wouldent buy it, it looks like little more than the family mini van. How about making a off road 4x4 that holds 4 people + 1 dog, tough as nails easy to repair/ replace parts. Ok gas milage or diesel (prefer) around 30g or less? Maybe cal it emmmm a land cruiser!

OK I get it .... you don't like the 200! What you want is a wrangler limited which should fill all your wants. :)

So, I think that no matter how much we may bemoan the directions this Cruiser seems to be going in, I really think it's all just very thick lipstick on a pig.
Anyone willing to invest the time and effort to rid their 200 of the maller garbage hanging off it would probably be pleasantly surprised.

Ditch the running boards, a mild lift, some armour here and there, and I think it would be fine. I have doubts that it will ever be the equal of the 100, but it'll still blow everything in its class by The Big Three out of the water.

If I had the cash I would by a top spec 200 in an instant. I wouldn't even modify it or remove anything. I would however thrash it offroad like you thrash a cheap hooker. What ever falls off it I will pick up and bungee cord it to the roof (that's right, no roof rack bitches). And when some smart **** comes up to inform me that his solid axle 40/55/60/7x/80 manual transmission and key start equipped cruiser is hard core, and that I have bought a soft mall cruising 4wd, I will kick him hard in the nuts and tell him that a vehicle is only as soft as it's driver.

Who the hell deleted the pintle hook? I need it for my farm trailer.

At least over here we still use NATO type pintle hooks. Even the current model Pajero (GEN III
Montero there) comes with a pintle hook.

200's sold here either come with a Pintle hook or provisions to attach one without hacking up the body.
