Fabulous fabrication’s stainless steel snorkel

This may be a naive question, but are there any practical differences/advantages to having a snorkel with the intake facing forward versus backward?

Not on our 5.7. No ill effects. Airflow ti the engine is *not* increased by the “scoop” as the air is controlled by a butterfly device past the airbox at the engine.
Wjen you see them backward, it might be someone coming out of heavy snow....
