Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Fab Fours out of Durango Colorado, they used my FJ to test fit the prototype bumpers for the Ultimate Adventure FJ Cruiser.
Fab Fours has designed front and rear custom bumpers that in my opinion are best of breed, the front as shown does not show any bars, however the production model will be availalble with or without bars and not as a bolt on option they will be fully welded, it offers a very open top for quick and easy access to the winch, it has two welded 1/2 inch recovery points and is mounted to the FJ way back on the frame for maximum support. It offers the greatest approach angle that I have seen and the skid plate/bumper is one piece, it is made of 3/16 steel plate and has thicker internal support pieces. It is a very clean and tight fit, there are no gaps. Estimated weight for the production run is 120-140
Both bumpers come powdered coated and are available for phone orders, pricing for the front will be available in two days, the rear bumper will go through a second prototype, the rear has a lot going on it provides a tire mount option that is bolted on to the bumper this allows the option to add custom fuel can storage, it is also hinged to allow great access to the rear window, that is not show in the current photos.
I will be getting jpegs of the CAD Design that show both the front bar options and the rear tire mount.
The first production run for the front bumper will be mid July around the same time as the second prototype fitting of the rear bumper, production for the rear will be late August.
