Ok after some thought i emailed the people @ EZwiring.com about making a after market gauge panel for the fj40 and 45. I have had several emails back and fourth
and will be sending them a dash (empty of course) so they can offer one ready to go.Just checking to see if there was any interest. I am posting some pics of how i did mine.

Was going to do diamond plate but son wanted those gauges and man they look good at night .As for the wood why not ?but thanks for the input

I agree, if you could go with a metal panel with some slightly different colored gauges that would be great. Also will ez wire be making connectors for the gauge to wire harness? I have a brand new ez harness waiting to be installed... It would make things sweeter.

Uh, where's the oil, fuel and amp gauges?

I have no need for a tach. Rather have the traditional speedometer over oil, fuel, temp and amp gauges, on a smooth pewter plate.

Not sure I like the odd green color either.

The wood is nice, but since there's no other wood trim in my FJ40, it's a bit fancy for me.

Their IP40-21.21.33.21.21 is what I'm referring to.
+1. That is pretty nice!

The OPs wood dash is nice, but the gauge color isn't doing it for me either.

Welcome to Classic Instruments

I wonder what these guys could come up with, that looks OEM? For some reason I personally don't like the generic aftermarket gauge look in an FJ40. Granted the aftermarket gauges do get the job done well. I am betting Classic Instruments may cost a bit more. I have seen their work on several show cars, as well as modernized gauges in older (20s-30s) housings that look like 100% restorations. Top shelf stuff there. just a thought if $$ isn't an issue, but a phone call is usually free.

our gauges in the 72 FJ40 are not functioning and the speedometer cable was missing, we are installing a ez wiring kit, I have 79 FJ40 donor vechicle in my yard, we are going to try to install he 79 INSTRUMENT PANEL in the 72. We were looking into a new gauge and instrument panel and we are cheap. this is free.
