Extra fuel tank?

not just yet. I'm planning ahead.

also, who make the best sliders?

Thats a matter of opinion. I have Slee and have beat the crap out of them and they are just fine. Ross has Solid Rock Offroad and has beat on his some, no issue. Cayce has Metal Tech and they are just as good. Spike and Tools have none and have had no issue either.

meh, cats are nothing to sweat. Mine are totally exposed and I've never beat on them. Lower rear links are something to be more concerned about. They commonly serve as sliders when going over ledges.

...cats are nothing to sweat...

Alvin, I'm disappointed in you. He's talking about an extra fuel tank... you know what that means - Expedition Wheeling. So he can't have anything bigger than a 33" tire, and that 15k winch, ARB fridge, battery-operated espresso machine, Northface clothing, and whatever else I've forgotten to mention (Rob, help me out here...) is going to weigh the truck down, reducing ground clearance, and the cats are gonna be toast at the first rock... :hillbilly: :grinpimp: :D

lol, We'll give im the benefit of the doubt. He's just getting caught up in the "what can I do to my 80" fever.

I have the Hanna sliders and they’ve worked well for me. They have the cat protection which I’ve found useful a couple of times. I think the downside to that is that it tends to keep in the heat and run it up the passenger side floor. They’ve held up pretty good so far, they have a couple of gashes, however no dents, so that speaks good things for the thickness of the tube. I hope this helps with your question on fuel tanks :meh:

Yes, I am asking about extra fuel tanks, but MaddBaggins chimed in and I rememberd that his 80 is very well built and the thought to asked about "sliders" just popped in there!
Say,, can that battery-operated espresso machine make a carmel frip?

I have a 34 gal tank. I picked up one of the Long Ranger tanks from AU. You seem them from time to time on the board or through SOR...I just checked SOR...they are selling the 13G now for the price of my 34. It is neatly installed on a rack in my garage at the moment but hope to get it installed on the truck soon.

So far I don't like it because it reminds me how much time I don't have for my truck. More to come when it gets installed.

Thank you!
34 gal, would extend my range just about right. I think it's better than messing with jerry cans.
Keep us posted on your install!

Buy that desert tan beauty, before I do...

JEEZZZZSsss!!! They'll let any one post here! ;)

DUDE!!! how the heck are ya Loren?
The desert tan one was sweet, and well thought out. however, I picked up a rather "Bling" white, semi built 96 in primo condition down in the "Old Pueblo" yesterday. :)

Nice! We must go comfy-wheeling sometime. Even the :princess: likes it...

;) You got it!

My Bling "Slee" rock slider and skid plates should be here Friday. And then the uber cool "Landtank" Cruiser seat extensions should be here by Tue's or Wed's. the winch will be in tomorrow (I'll never get stuck aslong as I have a winch) :)

Then, it's off to the mall to find a 12V Cappuccino/Latte/dounut/berrito/blower&turbo/Nitros/Gucci machine so we can do some serious crawling Brother! :grinpimp:
I've had it wrong all this time! I didnt need a five point harness, suspention seats, beadlocked 40" Creepys on one tons with the Atlas II & ultra low gears, full Comp cage & armor!
Turns out, all I needed was an "8D" with Leather seats, a kickin stereo on 35's and the :princess: , so I could be stylelin & profilin! :D

Cryki,,,I'm just gettin started!
